Spin the wheel
Type your names or options, give it a spin and let the wheel decide. Fair picks for classrooms, giveaways and indecisive friends.
How to use the wheel spinner
Add your entries
Type or paste names, choices or numbers into the Entries box, one per line. You can paste a whole column straight from Excel or Google Sheets.
Set weights if you need them
Every entry starts with an equal chance. In the Weights tab, raise an entry’s weight to give it a bigger slice and a better chance to win.
Spin
Click the wheel, press Spin, hit the space bar, or grab the wheel and flick it. Use the Spin time slider to make spins quick or long and dramatic.
Keep or remove the winner
Spin again with everyone still in, or remove the winner so the next spin picks from those left. Every pick is listed in the Results tab.
Ready-made wheels
Start from a filled-in wheel and change whatever you like. See all wheels.
Decisions
For when nobody wants to choose.
Classroom
Fair turns, no favourites.
Numbers and letters
Raffles, bingo and quick draws.
Games and parties
Keep the evening moving.
Raffles and random picks
Giveaways, countries and colours.
Who uses it
The same wheel works for very different rooms.
Teachers
Paste the class list once, then pick who answers next on the projector with the random name picker. Remove each name as it comes up so nobody gets picked twice.
Streamers and giveaways
Drop in usernames from chat and spin live. The Results tab keeps a record of every winner, and weights let you give extra entries to subscribers.
Friends and families
Settle what to eat, who does the chores or game night in ten seconds. Send the wheel’s link to the group chat and spin it again tomorrow.
Questions
Is the wheel really random?
Yes. The winner is picked with your browser's cryptographic random number generator before the wheel starts turning. The spin animation shows that pick, and every entry's chance matches the size of its slice.
How do I give some names a higher chance?
Open the Weights tab and raise the weight of any entry with the + button. A weight of 3 means three times the chance of a weight of 1, and the slice grows to match. You can also type an asterisk and a number after a name in the list, like "Ava *3".
How do I save or share a wheel?
Press the link button under the wheel. It copies a link that holds your title, entries and weights, so anyone who opens it sees the same wheel. Your last wheel is also kept in this browser for next time.
Can I change how long the wheel spins?
Yes. Drag the Spin time slider under the wheel to anything from 2 to 20 seconds. Your choice is remembered in this browser. Spin time only changes the animation, not the odds.
Can I remove a name after it wins?
Yes. When the result appears, choose Remove from wheel and the entry is taken off. Keep spinning until everyone has had a turn.
How many entries can a wheel have?
Up to 500. Labels shrink as the wheel fills up, and past about 70 entries the pegs on the rim are hidden so the slices stay readable.
Does it work on a phone or a classroom projector?
It works on any modern phone, tablet or computer. The full screen button hides the entry list and shows only the wheel, which suits a projector, a smartboard or a stream.
Is it free?
Yes. There is nothing to sign up for or install, and everything runs in your browser.
