About wheelspinner
wheelspinner.org is a free wheel spinner for picking names, making choices and running giveaways. It loads fast, works on any device, and doesn’t ask you to sign up.
Why it exists
Spinner wheels get used in classrooms every day, on livestreams, at office parties and in family group chats. Most of the time people just want to type a list and spin. This site keeps that part simple: the wheel is the first thing on the page, and everything else stays out of its way.
How the random pick works
When you press Spin, the winner is chosen first, using your browser’s built-in cryptographic random number generator (crypto.getRandomValues). That’s the same source of randomness browsers use for security. The wheel then animates to a random point inside the winning slice.
Every entry’s chance equals the share of the wheel its slice takes up. With equal weights, a wheel of 8 names gives each name a 1 in 8 chance. If you raise a weight in the Weights tab, that entry’s slice grows, so the wheel always shows the real odds.
Your data stays with you
Your entries never leave your device unless you choose to share a link. The wheel runs entirely in your browser and your last wheel is saved there, not on a server. A share link stores the wheel in the link itself. Read the privacy policy for details.
What you can do with it
- Pick students fairly with the random name picker and remove each name once chosen.
- Answer a question with the yes or no wheel.
- Draw raffle numbers with the 1 to 100 wheel.
- Give some entries a better chance with weights, for example extra entries in a giveaway.
- Show only the wheel on a projector or stream with full screen mode.
There are more starting points on the all wheels page.
